Just added this bust to my dresser area. I draped several of my necklaces on it and attached a large flower from the Paper Cowgirls swap. I love the way it turned out--she reminds me of Marie Antoniette.

I made this mask for my daughter's flamingo costume for Halloween. We started with a white mask and sprayed it pink. I lined the eyes with rhinestones and glued feathers at the top and edged them with larger rhinestones. Then I painted a plastic devil horn black and hot glued it on for a beak. We also glued feathers into a pink tulle ballet skirt to complete the costume.

Here is my kitty, Chloe, chilling on my desk in my art studio. She loves to come and lay directly on whatever I'm working on, trying to get my attention!

I put together this darling dress form for my good friend, Lisa's birthday. We are working together to decorate her shabby chic art studio and it was the perfect addition! I tied numerous ribbons at the waist, added a "belt" of tulle fastened with a large blossom, and attached a glitter "L" to a vintage necklace. I love the way it looks and came close to keeping it for myself!

I found this beautiful Marie Antoinette figurine while antique shopping in Spring, TX last weekend.

Here I am with good friends Mendy(center) and Tanya at the Paper Cowgirls Art Retreat in Waxahachie, TX. What an exciting event filled with creative women, great classes and unique shopping! Mendy taught a great class on the unlimited possibilities of digital art. It was the first visit for Tanya and me.

In Cindy Gilstrap's "La Petite Boutique" class we made this darling altered canvas.

French goodies from vendor night at Paper Cowgirl! LOVE the little cherub lamp base...so many possibilities...
My favorite shopping booth (from "Tarnished and Tattered"). Lisa McILvain also taught a wonderful techniques class on mixed media.
Can't wait to check things out!

Here's a closer view. The 2nd tier is chocolate truffles....mmmm...

I had a wedding shower for my daughter's dance teacher and made these bite size cupcakes. I used a lavendar "paint" mist by Walton's to get a hint of color on the icing. They were pretty and tasty!

I adhered this beautiful flower to my lampshade in my art studio. I love the "chandelier" look of this lamp!

Swap treats!

I'm so excited about going to the Paper Cowgirls Art Retreat in June! Of course mine had to have a French touch! My friend, Mendy is hosting a flower swap and I made these toile flowers. I'm hosting a trim swap and tea stained this beautiful toile ribbon. I'll also be doing the mini album page swap which should be fun. I can't wait to see what everyone does!

I spent last weekend in Fredericksburg at a beautiful B&B with my girlfriends. I got to catch up on some scrapbooking and did a little shopping along Main Street since the weather was ideal! I saw this beautiful gate and couldn't resist taking a picture of it because it looked so European. I also purchased this old drawing of French style tables. Each is numbered and signed.

I found this wonderful old trophy while antiquing recently. I think it adds a touch of class to my bookshelves. I'm thinking about having something French engraved on it...

I was so excited to go to Round Top and as expected, was overwhelmed by the magnitude of the selection of antiques and embellishments! My head was spinning with the possibilities! Wish I had a bigger house and more craft space...
Round Top: table after table
of endless embellishments...

These are a couple of French recipes I framed and have in my kitchen. One is in my grandmother's (memere's) handwriting and the other is in my mother's handwriting. I had the recipes translated so they can be passed down to my daughters.

I made these pillows from needlework done by my French cousin, Bernadette.

I found these great old French postcards at our local Antique Mall this past weekend. I also found a beautiful pink glass eiffel tower for my daughter's vanity. Score!

After dinner, we went to this little French cafe for pastries...yum...
My daughter, Nathalie (the French spelling--"H" is silent), took us to this great French restaurant when we went to visit her in New York this past weekend. That's her with my other daughter, Noelle. The restaurant was so quaint and the food was wonderful!

Jewelry Hanger

I dressed up this bulletin board by painting it black, adding the scroll at the top and hooks at the bottom. I glued tea cup hooks to the cork to hang my necklaces. It's functional and beautiful!

A little French Christmas decor...
A few of the cards I received from some of my French relatives...
